Van Leaves ATL Needing More
Tony Dabas started exactly at 8pm, which I didn't realize was because he couldn't wait to get out of there. He sang great, still has the chops, and the band was very good. He played Moondance, but it was rushed. At $70 per ticket, yeah, he was. He played Georgia on My Mind for us, which got the crowd going but he just let it die. The show ended after only 90 minutes. No band introductions, no stories about the songs. He never engaged the audience, never talked to us. It was very disappointing. Of course, we all thought there would be an encore. But the houselights quickly came up, and it was over. No goodbye, or great to be here, just left the stage singing like he could not stand to be there another second longer to finish the song. It took longer to get out of the parking lot.
